Oil Rice

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons Blue Band Margarine
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 1/2 cup chopped salted tilapia (optional)
  • 1 1/2 cups rice
  • 3 cups water
  • 1tsp salt

Method

  1. Melt the margarine.
  2. Add the sliced onion and fry until it starts to colour.
  3. Add the salted tilapia, and fry until the onion has browned.
  4. Add the rice.
  5. Stir to coat.
  6. Add the water and stir to incorporate.
  7. Place the lid on.
  8. Cook on a gentle heat until the rice is tender (about 15-20mins).
  9. Serve with eggs and sardines.
