A Little Help with Homework

After a day of school, sports and play, there’s still one more thing your little one will need to do…their homework. It’s always a challenge to keep your children motivated enough to do their schoolwork but with a few quick tips, you can make sure your child stays ahead at school – and in life!

Special Study Space

Pick a quiet space in the house and set it up with all the books and stationery your child will need. It’s also a good idea to decide on a regular time for homework sessions, that way your little one will get into a routine.

Serve Up a Snack

At the end of the day, your child will have used up all their energy. Make sure they can focus while doing their homework. Give them a quick snack full of goodness and flavour – like a tasty spread of Blue Band on white toast.

Give Your Support

Your little ones need as much encouragement as you can give them! Ask questions about the work they’re doing, give them little quizzes and let them know you care. Although, it’s also important to make sure your child has enough space to learn how to do their homework on their own.

Show Off Their Success

When your child does well in a task or project at school, make sure you praise and appreciate their efforts. Hang up their art projects, read their short stories and share the good news about good test results to let your children know just how proud you are.
